Hattingen expands: 22,447 m² for demanding projects

A new hall complex, seven cranes and lifting capacities of up to 250 tonnes.

At Schmiedestraße 1, we are expanding our location with extensive production and storage space and powerful crane equipment. Nine existing hardening furnaces also offer potential for the heat treatment of steel plates and other steel products.

Large steel plates, heavy components and demanding production processes need space and the right equipment. In Hattingen, we are creating new possibilities for these requirements. At Schmiedestraße 1, 45527 Hattingen, we have secured another large hall complex for production and storage – almost directly next to our existing hall.

Room for production, storage and new ideas

The new complex comprises two large hall areas: the production hall of the heat treatment facility and Hall 7 for heat treatment. Together with the adjoining wash and changing facilities and the gas receiving station, the stated total is 14,135 m² of building floor area including ancillary areas. A further 8,312 m² of outdoor space surrounds the halls, bringing the total site area to 22,447 m².

The hall lengths also illustrate the industrial scale: 141 metres and 183.5 metres provide room to plan a variety of storage and production projects. Whether the requirement involves steel plates, other steel products, machinery or large components, we work with our customers to establish which areas and processes suit their needs.

The combination of halls and outdoor space creates additional options for organising a project. Storage, production and the associated transport processes can be considered together and coordinated around each customer's requirements.

Seven cranes – lifting capacities of up to 250 tonnes

Moving heavy goods requires more than space. The new hall complex is equipped with seven cranes with lifting capacities from 15 to 250 t. The equipment ranges from gantry cranes for smaller loads to an overhead crane with a capacity of 250 t.

  • Five overhead cranes: capacities of 25 t, 80 t, two at 100 t and one at 250 t
  • Two gantry cranes: each with a capacity of 15 t
  • Different load handling attachments: magnets, tongs or manipulators, depending on the crane

This gives the location a strong technical basis for handling heavy steel plates and industrial components. We assess which crane and load handling attachment suit a particular task based on the goods and the planned process.

Nine hardening furnaces offer further potential

One distinctive feature of the hall complex is the nine hardening furnaces currently on site. They could be used for the heat treatment, including quenching and tempering, of steel plates and other steel products. Alongside production and storage, this offers an additional possibility for industrial projects.

Such use would be agreed on a project-by-project basis, taking into account the material requirements, the technical condition and capabilities of the equipment, and the intended process.

Next door: more options at the Hattingen location

The new hall adds to our existing location in the immediate neighbourhood. Our hall location in Hattingen will therefore be listed under Schmiedestraße 1-3, 45527 Hattingen. The proximity helps us plan existing space, additional capacity and suitable transport services together.

Our aim is to offer customers room for a wide variety of production and storage tasks, drawing on our experience in transport and project logistics and considering the complete process.

Bring us your next big project

Do you need space for heavy components, a production area, or a way to combine storage and transport? Perhaps the potential use of the hardening furnaces is also of interest. Talk to us about your goods, space requirements and schedule. Together, we will assess the possibilities the new hall complex offers for your project.
